Just 10 minutes into last night’s (okay, 3 hours ago) Golden Globes, I tweeted “#TamyFoehler( they are a couple aren’t they 😉 ) are already killing with the laughs at the#GoldenGlobes.
I wasn’t drinking. Had no fancy dinner. Was sitting in my ‘schooshy pants’ in my Italian recliner, but Tina Fey and Amy Poehler made me feel like I was right there with them at the boozey Golden Globe® Ceremony.
The Academy Award® extravaganza is the Grand Daddy of all the award shows, but I relish presenters and nominees half in the bag on live broadcasts. Sometimes a little sloppy – – but always fun.
Co-Hosts Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler will have a star studded line-up of presenters to join in the fun for the 71st Annual Golden Globes tonight. With a special shout-out to Deadline.com – Here is the full list of presenters:

On the road to the coveted grand daddy Academy Award® extravaganza is the booze-filled Golden Globe® Ceremony. It’s one of my favorite award shows because presenters and nominees are not on their best behavior. And that’s always fun.
The Golden Globes will be broadcast tomorrow, Sunday January 12, 2014 on NBC at 5PM Pacific, 8PM, EST. This year’s hosts are Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. They did a spectacular job (imho) in 2013.
If you want to play along with me, you can download your ballot right Here. Let’s compare after the show if you want to email me your scanned ballot. I might even pick a Winner and mail you out a Starbucks card. Would you like that…?
The SAG Award Ceremony will be Simulcast Live on Saturday, January 18, 2014 on TNT and TBS at 8PM (EST)/5PM(PT). An encore presentation will follow that you can access on TNT or a live stream of the SAG Awards can also be viewed on line through the TBS and TNT websites and through Watch TBS and Watch TNT apps for iOS or Android.
If you are a Batman fan like I am, you are also a Catwoman fan. Today is the birthday of TVs first Catwoman, Ms. Julie Newmar. She is 79.
The statuesque Newmar stands at 5′ 11″ while her counterpart in Season 3 the fabbbbulous Ms. Eartha Kitt was 5′ 4″. Newmar played Catwoman in seasons 1 and 2 in the Batman TV Series. She was set to continue to the 3rd and final season but had a schedule conflict.
One of the things people might now know is that Newmar ‘s mother was a fashion designer under the name “Chalene” and between the two of them, they decided to modify her Catwoman outfit by moving the the belt from the waist to the hips to emphasize Newmar’s hourglass figure.
I know gen pop often views International Women’s Day with apprehension, but that’s mainly because it’s one of the most misunderstood days of observance.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not writing this to man-bash. Dudes are pretty darn cool. Women also misunderstand this day. So I’m here to clarify that this day doesn’t mean you have to be a roaring feminist, this day doesn’t have to be sad, this day doesn’t mean you need a vagina.
International Women’s Day can be about anything you want it to be. You can use it to help empower women or simply to acknowledge it to pay homage to a woman who may have had a great impact on your life. Simply take this day to honor women and the difference they make or have made in your life or give them the opportunity to start making that difference today. I’m writing a couple of blogs right now while waiting for the start of the Golden Globe® ‘red carpet’. While researching, I came across a wry and funny video featuring Academy Award® and Globe Award winner – actor extraordinaire Morgan Freeman.
You get some great videos on social media sites YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, like the Big Bang Theory flash mob and especially ones from “Funny or Die”, such as their “Drunk History” series, my favorite being “Twas The Night Before Christmas” with Ryan Gosling, Jim Carrey and Eva Mendes.
Some you share. Some you keep to yourself. When it comes across a bloggers’ desk, we share with our readers while we wait for the Golden Globe Awards to start.
‘Family Guy‘ creator Seth McFarlane and busy actress Emma Stone will announce the Academy Award nominations, tomorrow Thursday, January 10 at the ungawdly hour of 5:30AM. Of course I’ll be watching.
But today, a possible foreshadowing of what’s to come was announced during the BAFTA nominations. Most notably, Les Misérables nominated for Best Picture which was snubbed for a Golden Globe® nod for Best Picture.
I’m a late comer to the phenomenon that is The Big Bang Theory. I started watching it in its 5th season in 2011 and now I cannot get enough of it.
I have TBBT auto-tuned to 3 different stations in case I pass by the TV when I’m home and it comes on, I get a chance to stop what I’m doing and watch my favorite geeks.
This past Xmas was great because the Atlanta station TBS had a Big Bang Xmas Marathon.
After I did all my charity work, visiting, eating, we got home and vegged out until Boxing Day and watched the silliness. Forget about Boxing Day deals. The Big Bang Theory was on!
My favorite addition to the cast is “Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler“played by “Blossom”, or in real-life Mayim Bialik who actually has a real-life Ph.D as a neuroscientist. I love the weird bi-sexual bent they let her play with when she’s around “Penny” (Kaley Cuoco) and then the sex-starved nerd-kitten when she’s around “Sheldon” (Jim Parsons).
But I digress. I came across this Big Bang Theory on-set flash mob video and I can’t stop playing it.
Christmas eve angels were on double duty as another terrific character actor, Charles Durning died. He was 89 years-old.
In 2003, I worked on the set of a fairly forgettable MOW called “A Very Married Christmas” that starred Joe Mantegna, Jean Smart and Charles Durning who played a “a volunteer Santa”that helped the two lead characters get together.
