I woke up this morning feeling a little weird. Happy that tonight’s the night for the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Yes, tonight, Monday. And not the usual Sunday. The live broadcast from the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, with host Seth Meyers starts 5:00PM PT, 8:00PM EST on NBC.
True Detective is up for Outstanding Drama Series against Breaking Bad. But since it will return for a 2nd season (albeit with a different story and cast), I hope Breaking Bad takes home this prize as it will never have another chance.
We shall see. It’ll be hard to say Goodbye. Join me on Twitter for all the Emmy festivities and “selfie spoofs”.
I just finished ‘binge watching’ all the episodes of the 1st part of “Breaking Bad“, Season 5 to get ready for tonight’s much anticipated premiere of the “return” of Season 5.
I re-learned a lot of things. Saul is a poet, Marie is obsessed with ‘purple’, Mike was scary mofo, Skylar is a ball buster, Jesse is a soft touch and the voice of reason, Hank is pretty smart and Walt is in for a shit storm as the ’empire builder’…
…the prospect of guiding the show towards its endgame had him in a state of “terror“. He compared the writing process to a “chess game” and stressed that although his writing staff had an idea about where the show was going and certain signposts established to guide them there, they were still filling in plot developments and were “always open to something better that may come along“.
The critically-acclaimed series Breaking Bad is one of those rare things that turned TV upside down. It showed stodgy TV execs what audiences craved. Complex characters. Real tension in every episode. Real believable crisis for every character. And all this stuff that could happen in your own backyard. Possibly the greatest program in television history – is Breaking Bad. And all that good badness is about to come to an end, as Season 6 spells the end for chemistry teacher turned meth-making kingpin “Walter White”.
Episode 3 plans to directly deal with the circumstances around actor Cory Monteith’s death but Reilly didn’t specifically say that the character dies of an overdose.
“The third episode will deal with the Finn Hudson character being written out of the show. That episode will deal directly with the incidents surrounding his death and drug addiction … Ryan Murphy is going to film PSAs with the cast, as cast members, as friends of his, they’re going to speak directly to the audience.
I know gen pop often views International Women’s Day with apprehension, but that’s mainly because it’s one of the most misunderstood days of observance.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not writing this to man-bash. Dudes are pretty darn cool. Women also misunderstand this day. So I’m here to clarify that this day doesn’t mean you have to be a roaring feminist, this day doesn’t have to be sad, this day doesn’t mean you need a vagina.
International Women’s Day can be about anything you want it to be. You can use it to help empower women or simply to acknowledge it to pay homage to a woman who may have had a great impact on your life. Simply take this day to honor women and the difference they make or have made in your life or give them the opportunity to start making that difference today. Benji’s mother Laurie and sister, Lacey Schwimmer, a 4th place finalist on Season 3 SYTYCD and most recently on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS), are also west-coast swing dancers in their own right.
Born “Benjamin Daniel Schwimmer” in Redlands, California, Schwimmer won the second season of Fox’s long-running So You Think You Can Dance reality competition show where he also hotly competed with now “Emmy® Award nominated” Travis Wall who has been a choreographer on SYTYCD since season 7.
What’s incredible about Benji Schwimmer is that he’s not only a talented dancer, globe trotting Humanitarian, sought after choreographer, singer, musician; but also highly educated at some of the nations top Ivy League schools.
I’m a late comer to the phenomenon that is The Big Bang Theory. I started watching it in its 5th season in 2011 and now I cannot get enough of it.
I have TBBT auto-tuned to 3 different stations in case I pass by the TV when I’m home and it comes on, I get a chance to stop what I’m doing and watch my favorite geeks.
This past Xmas was great because the Atlanta station TBS had a Big Bang Xmas Marathon.
After I did all my charity work, visiting, eating, we got home and vegged out until Boxing Day and watched the silliness. Forget about Boxing Day deals. The Big Bang Theory was on!
My favorite addition to the cast is “Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler“played by “Blossom”, or in real-life Mayim Bialik who actually has a real-life Ph.D as a neuroscientist. I love the weird bi-sexual bent they let her play with when she’s around “Penny” (Kaley Cuoco) and then the sex-starved nerd-kitten when she’s around “Sheldon” (Jim Parsons).
But I digress. I came across this Big Bang Theory on-set flash mob video and I can’t stop playing it.
Christmas eve angels were on double duty as another terrific character actor, Charles Durning died. He was 89 years-old.
In 2003, I worked on the set of a fairly forgettable MOW called “A Very Married Christmas” that starred Joe Mantegna, Jean Smart and Charles Durning who played a “a volunteer Santa”that helped the two lead characters get together.

It’s a sad day on Sesame Street as Kevin Clash has officially resigned after 28 years as the voice behind the beloved Elmo the Muppet since 1985.
According to the New York Times:
Announcing the decision with what he called a “very heavy heart,” Mr. Clash said in a statement, “Personal matters have diverted attention away from the important work ‘Sesame Street’ is doing and I cannot allow it to go on any longer. I am deeply sorry to be leaving and am looking forward to resolving these personal matters privately.”
His statement came at around the same time that a lawsuit was filed in federal court in New York accusing him of “sexual activity” with a 15-year-old. The accuser, Cecil Singleton, is now 24. The suit said that Mr. Singleton “did not become aware that he had suffered adverse psychological and emotional effects from Kevin Clash’s sexual acts and conduct until 2012.” It sought $5 million in damages.
